Kids will put their LEGO® building skills to the test!
Kids, ages 5 and up, are invited to put their building skills to the test in a Library LEGO building contest!
At the start of the contest the Library will provide a building theme, then participants will be given a set of amount of time to unleash their creativity! After building is complete, all participants will get to vote for the best build. But in the end all participants are winners because they will get to take home their LEGO creations.
The Library will provide all the LEGO bricks. Please do not bring any bricks with you.
When engaging in building activities, children can be as adventurous and creative as they want, allowing them to experiment, problem solve, and test out new ideas. Playing with LEGO® bricks is also known to have benefits for the development of fine motor skills, developing dexterity and strength in the fingers. The differing amounts of pressure required to assemble the bricks is a great exercise for fingers, supporting children in being able to hold a pencil and control the pressure applied when writing.
The Buena Vista Branch Library is located on Buena Vista Street near Olive Avenue in Burbank’s Media District. It is a one-story building.
