Explore numbers and counting with fun hands-on activities that are easy to recreate at home!
For Preschoolers age 3-5 and their caregivers.
Is your child getting ready to attend Kindergarten or even start preschool soon? Join us as we explore numbers and counting with fun hands-on activities that are easy to recreate at home using everyday objects. Multiple stations will be available for you and your preschooler to visit and each is accompanied by instructions that guide caregivers through repeating the activities at home. A variation of this program occurs again in August, so by the end of the summer you'll have a folder full of fun ideas for learning at home!
Registration required. Space is limited.
Please register using your child’s name.
Caregivers attending the program with a child do not need to register.
The first step in introducing the concept of counting and numbers is one-to-one correspondence. Memorizing how to count to ten doesn’t necessarily help a child unless they know what those numbers represent. One-to-one correspondence is the ability to count while pointing to one object at a time. Number recognition, counting objects, and improving one-to-one correspondence will grow your preschooler's math confidence, help to build critical thinking skills, and create a foundation for success in math.
