3rd Grade Book Club

Join Miss Kristine and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once you are registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Northwest Branch Library.

Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.

Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Northwest Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov. Please register using your child’s name.

We will be reading The Haunted Mustache by Joe McGee. Strange things happen in Wolver Hollow. Creepy things. But fifth graders Parker and Lucas are determined to debunk one of Wolver Hollow’s legends: Over a hundred years ago, Bockius Beauregard was vaporized in an unfortunate accident and all that remained was his magnificent mustache. People say it returns every year, on the anniversary of Bockius’s death, seeking a lip to claim as its own! When the boys try to prove the story is fake, they find more than they bargained for.

A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
