3rd Grade Book Club

Join Miss Kristine and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once you are registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Northwest Branch Library.

Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended. Please register using your child’s name.

Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Northwest Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.

We will be reading Animal Inn: Treasure Hunt by Paul DuBois Jacobs. The Animal Inn is an all-inclusive pet resort/hotel/center/spa for animals from dogs to rabbits, cats to ducks, parrots to lizards. From doggie and kitty daycare, to grooming, and group play—you name it, and the Animal Inn has it. The Tyler animals are convinced a pirate with a glittering treasure is visiting the Animal Inn. Will the animals have to walk the plank in order to survive? Arghhh!

A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
