1st-2nd Grade Book Club

Group 1

Join Miss Jenny and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once registered, be sure to pick up your book at Buena Vista Branch Library. Group 1 meets on a Tuesday each month at 3:30pm.

Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.

Please register using your child’s name. Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at Buena Vista Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.

We will be reading What's in Your Body? by Ximena Hastings. "How are scabs formed? Why do mites live on your eyelashes? How much urine can a human bladder hold? Learn the answers to these questions and even more super gross human body facts with Dr. Ick and Sam the Dog…if you dare!"

A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
