Join Miss Jenny and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once you are registered, be sure to pick up your book at Buena Vista Branch Library.
Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. Please register using your child’s name. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.
Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Buena Vista Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.
We will be reading Shark Summer by Ira Marcks. "When a Hollywood film crew arrives on Martha's Vineyard with a mechanical shark and a youth film contest boasting a huge cash prize, disgraced pitcher Gayle "Blue Streak" Briar sees a chance to turn a bad season into the best summer ever."
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
The Buena Vista Branch Library is located on Buena Vista Street near Olive Avenue in Burbank’s Media District. It is a one-story building.
