We will be reading The Chupacabra Hoopla by Michael Brumm. The Cryptid Club is hungry for a new adventure! When the school lunches go missing and mysterious spaghetti-sauce tracks lead to the woods, Lily has no choice but to enlist the help of her main nemesis, Daisy, to help catch the crook. But as the school continues to go without any food, the starving students begin fighting over the last crumbs. Then, the school custodian reports that his sandwich was stolen by a large-eyed creature with sharp claws! Can Lily, Henry, Oliver, Ernie, and Daisy solve the mystery of the Chupacabra before the entire school turns into the hunger games?
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
The Northwest Branch Library is located on Victory Boulevard near Hollywood Way, not far from the Hollywood Burbank Airport. It is a one-story building.
