Discover the essential steps to turn your ideas into compelling TV scripts, gain insight into the screenwriting industry, and learn how to position yourself for success as a professional TV writer.
This program builds on the success of our August event with the Writers Guild Foundation, which offered an insightful overview of the industry with a spotlight on the community and online resources available to screenwriters. Many attendees requested a deeper dive into the basics of screenwriting, and we're excited to bring that to you now. This session is tailored for those navigating the world of screenwriting and seeking a foundational guide to the craft. We'll focus on developing your story, structuring it into a three-act script, and creating compelling characters to drive each act forward. We've invited Joseph Mwamba, an emerging writer who, like many aspiring writers, had to chart his own path. He learned firsthand the essential tools and skills needed to succeed in scriptwriting, as well as how the television industry works. Joseph will share his journey and what he's discovered along the way, offering valuable insights to help you take your first steps in the industry. This is your chance to ask questions about writing fundamentals, landing your first television job, and building a sustainable career as a writer in the TV world.
