A Queer Histories & Queer Futures Program
Created by Yesterqueers founder Amanda W. Timpson, Dear Heart brings queer love letters from history to life, showcasing the depth and breadth of queer love that has sustained our community throughout the ages. Inspired by Canongate’s wildly popular Letters Live events and Shaun Usher’s internationally best-selling Letters of Note series, Dear Heart is a celebration of the enduring power of queer love and the timeless impact of literary correspondence.
Following the readings, guests will be offered prompts to compose their own love letters.
Queer Histories & Queer Futures is a quarterly program series at Burbank Public Library that explores LGBTQ+ lives through art, storytelling, and shared community experiences. Grounded in history and focused on creative expression, this series creates space for connection, learning, and visibility, honoring the past while imagining inclusive futures for all.
