Welcome to the wild world of nature journaling!
In this 2 hour workshop specifically for teens, we’ll create a mini nature journal that helps teach focused attention and mindfulness. We'll use author Betty Edward's Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain methods through artistic expression (drawings), combined with scientific descriptions (words and numbers) to record observations. The key to developing a closer connection with nature is deliberately enhancing powers of observation and wonder. We’ll explore methods that field naturalists use to help notice more, remember their observations, and kindle further curiosity and exploration by "bringing nature in".
All supplies will be provided, and you will get a free nature journaling kit.
For teens in grades 6 - 12 only.
