3:30pm - 4:30pm
Join Miss Kristine and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once you are registered, be sure to pick up your book at Burbank Central Library.
Please register using your child’s name. Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.
Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at Burbank Central Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.
We will be reading Paige Proves It: The Mystery Monster by Amy Marie Stadelmann. Paige loves facts! She records interesting information in her facts journal and shares it with anyone who will listen. Wombats’ poop is cube-shaped! Her street’s buildings have seventy-three windows. And a boy named Penn lives next door. The two couldn’t be more different. The craziest thing Paige believes is that bananas are actually berries (scientifically proven!), but Penn thinks there’s a monster in the neighborhood! Paige will prove Penn wrong and that monsters aren’t real, one fact at a time.
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
Burbank Central Library
The Burbank Central Library is located at the corner of Glenoaks Boulevard and Olive Avenue in downtown Burbank. It is a two-story building with elevator access.
