4th-5th Grade Book Club
Wednesday, May 13
4:30pm - 5:30pm
Join Miss Kristine and friends to discuss a book and play games! Once you have registered you can pick up your book at Burbank Central Library.
Please register using your child’s name. Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.
Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at Burbank Central Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.
We will be reading The Ghoul of Windydown Vale by Jake Burt. Copper Inskeep holds Windydown Vale's deepest and darkest secret: he is the ghoul that haunts the Vale, donning a gruesome costume to scare travelers and townsfolk away from the dangers of the surrounding swamps. When a terrified girl claims she and her father were attacked by a creature - one that could not have been Copper - it threatens not just Copper's secret, but the fate of all Windydown in The Ghoul of Windydown Vale.
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
Burbank Central Library
