Experience the vibrant world of Commedia dell’Arte in Colpi di Maschera, a family-friendly celebration of iconic Italian masks, physical comedy, improvisation, and pop culture presented in English.

Colpi di Maschera is a vibrant celebration of Commedia dell’Arte, the iconic Italian theatrical tradition born in the 16th century and widely regarded as one of the foundations of modern comedy. Featuring its legendary masked characters, physical comedy, and improvisational spirit, this fast-paced, family-friendly production reimagines the art form for contemporary audiences through Shakespearean adventure, cinematic references, and playful pop culture. Written, directed, and performed by Nicola Adobati and Domenico Piscopo with Martina Cavagnoli, Colpi di Maschera honors the original spirit of Commedia dell’Arte as a lively, accessible popular theater while infusing it with fresh energy and contemporary appeal. Rooted in centuries of Italian theatrical heritage, it demonstrates that the timeless masks of Commedia dell’Arte continue to delight and resonate with audiences today.

This performance is presented in collaboration with Fondazione Italia and made possible through the generous support of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles and the Italian Cultural Institute of Los Angeles, as part of the celebrations for the 2026 XXVI Week of the Italian Language in the World.
