Designing Worlds: From Page to Screen

Exhibition Talk Presented by The National Animation Museum

Visually driven, 45-minute hosted conversation explores how artists and filmmakers transform initial ideas and sketches into believable animated and cinematic worlds.

The program then goes beyond the screen to examine how major film and animation franchises are translated into exhibitions and immersive experiences that audiences can physically enter. The conversation will also consider how these same storytelling and design principles can help shape the National Animation Museum's future exhibitions and visitor experiences.

Moderated by National Animation Museum Director Christine Farris, the conversation features animation artist, director, and historian Tom Sito, animation art director and production designer Mehrdad Isvandi, and National Animation Museum Creative Director Robin Stapley. Their discussion will be illustrated with concept artwork, film imagery, behind-the-scenes stories, and examples drawn from their careers.
