Join Miss Jenny and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Buena Vista Branch Library. Group 1 meets on a Tuesday each month at 4pm.
Space is limited. Registration is required if you missed the previous meeting.
If extra space becomes available, registration for those spots will open after our meeting on October 18th.
Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Buena Vista Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.
We will be reading Kondo & Kezumi Visit Giant Island by David Goodner. "Kondo is big. Kezumi is little. They lived on an island with fruit trees and berry bushes. When a surprise bottle washes ashore, they discover a map with a mysterious message: WE ARE NOT ALONE. Kezumi wants to follow the map and explore the world. Kondo wants to stay home and pick fruit from the fruit tree. But once Kezumi builds the perfect boat, the best friends set sail together to see . . . well, they don't know!"
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
The Buena Vista Branch Library is located on Buena Vista Street near Olive Avenue in Burbank’s Media District. It is a one-story building.
