Join Miss Jenny and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once you are registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Buena Vista Library.
Space is limited. Registration is required if you missed the previous meeting.
If extra space becomes available, registration for those spots will open after our meeting on October 18th.
Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Buena Vista Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.
We will be reading Zeus and the Thunderbolt of Doom by Joan Holub and Suzanne Williams. Ten-year-old Zeus is mystified (and super-annoyed) by the fact that he keeps getting hit by lightening. Every. Single. Year. He also longs for adventure, as he has never been far from the cave where he grew up. Zeus gets his wish—and a lot more than he bargained for—when he is kidnapped by dangerous, giant Titans! Zeus is on an adventure of a lifetime—and a journey to fulfill his destiny as King of the Gods.
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
The Buena Vista Branch Library is located on Buena Vista Street near Olive Avenue in Burbank’s Media District. It is a one-story building.
