A 9-week club to practice your creative writing!
Calling all young writers going into grades 4-7!
Join us for a 9-week series where we will delve into the elements of creative writing! Each week we will tackle a different aspect of writing while we work towards the goal of putting together a group zine by the end of the summer. We will learn about story arcs, character development, and much more. Be prepared to build up your writing skills each week!
Creative writing offers many benefits to tweens and teens by encouraging creativity, imagination, self-expression, communication skills, and of course, literacy! Participating in writing exercises during the summer months will help students stay sharp for the new school year.
Attendance is very important, so please be sure you can commit to attending at least six of the nine club meetings. Meetings will be at the Buena Vista Branch Library every Friday from 2:00pm - 3:00pm, from June 2 through July 28. If you miss more than 3 meetings, you will be removed from the club.
Space is limited. Registration is required, and will automatically enroll you in all nine meetings.
