Join Miss Jenny and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Buena Vista Library. Group 1 meets on a Tuesday each month at 3:30pm.
Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.
Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Buena Vista Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.
We will be reading Doggo & Pupper by Katherine Applegate. "Doggo is used to things being a certain way in his family. He likes routine. Cat says he’s become boring. That is, until Pupper shows up! Pupper is playful and messy, and turns the house upside down. Soon, the humans realize that Pupper needs some training, and off he goes to puppy school. When Pupper comes back, he’s well-behaved. He’s not playful. He’s not messy. But Doggo soon realizes that Pupper also isn’t happy. So Doggo steps in to help, and rediscovers what it means to have fun."
Please register using your child’s name. To register additional children, use the “add more people” button.
Caregivers attending the program with a child do not need to register.
A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
The Buena Vista Branch Library is located on Buena Vista Street near Olive Avenue in Burbank’s Media District. It is a one-story building.
