Join us each month to listen to a read aloud and explore the life of a not-so-well-known influential person. Afterwards, we'll work on an activity inspired by their field of interest to learn more about their job and the impact they had on our world. Be ready for some hands-on activities!
This month we're learning about Vera Rubin, the American astronomer who discovered dark matter by reading Shining Star: Vera Rubin Discovers Dark Matter by Suzanna Slade.
Engaging in arts activities can improve a child’s fine motor skills and enhance their creative problem-solving abilities. Activities like cutting, gluing, painting, and drawing can help children develop better coordination and dexterity, while creating three dimensional objects can improve visual-spatial skills.
The Burbank Central Library is located at the corner of Glenoaks Boulevard and Olive Avenue in downtown Burbank. It is a two-story building with elevator access.
