1st-2nd Grade Book Club

Group 2

Join friends to discuss our book and play games. Once registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Northwest Branch Library. Group 2 meets on a Thursday each month at 3:30pm.

Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended. Please register using your child’s name.

Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Northwest Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.

We will be reading Nugget and Dog: S'more Than Meets the Eye! by Jason Tharp. "Nugget and Dog are going to summer camp with their friends. Everyone is excited for ghost stories, hiking, and—best of all—s’mores! Especially Dijon. He’s going to see his cousin, Honey Mustard, and he has an evil plan like no other! Will it go his way, or will things get a little bit sticky?"

A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
