1st-2nd Grade Book Club

Join Mr. Kevin and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once registered, be sure to pick up your book at Northwest Branch Library. This group meets on a Tuesday each month at 4:00pm.

Please register using your child’s name. Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Northwest Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.

We will be reading Splat the Cat: I Scream for Ice Cream. Splat can barely sit still during the bus ride. He's imagining the mountain of ice cream he thinks he'll get to eat! But when Splat gets there, that mountain becomes more of an avalanche. It's up to Splat and his classmates to save the day!

A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.
