History MAKERS

For Grades K-5

Learn about some remarkable historical figures and the impact they had on our world, then participate in a fun activity inspired by their work!

Join us each week and listen to a read aloud about a not-so-well-known historical figure. Afterwards we'll work on an activity inspired by their field of study to learn more about their jobs and they impact they had on our world. Be ready for some hands-on STEAM activities! Dress for a mess as we might be using glue, paint, markers or other messy supplies.

This week, we are reading Maryam's Magic: The Story of Mathematician Maryam Mirzakhani by Megan Reid Miss Kristine. Join us at the Buena Vista Branch Library. 

Engaging in arts activities can improve a child’s fine motor skills and enhance their creative problem-solving abilities. Activities like cutting, gluing, painting, and drawing can help children develop better coordination and dexterity, while creating three dimensional objects can improve visual-spatial skills.
