Comics Squad Book Club

A Graphic Novel Book Club for Kids in Grades 2 - 5

Join Miss Jenny and friends to discuss our book and play games. Once you are registered, be sure to pick up your book at the Buena Vista Library.

Space is limited. If you did not attend last month’s book club meeting, registration is required. If spots are available, they open after the previous month's meeting has ended.

Once registered, you will need to pick up a free book at the Buena Vista Branch Library and start reading. If you have any questions, you can email childrenslibrarian@burbankca.gov.

We will be reading Explorer: The Mystery Boxes by Kazu Kibuishi. "What's in the box? Find out in these seven clever stories by eight incredible comics creators!"

A book club for kids is one of the best ways to combine learning and fun. Early readers book clubs support the emerging literacy of kids who have graduated from story time and are being introduced to more formal “learn-to-read” techniques in school. This program will introduce kids to awesome books, get them excited about books and reading, and help them develop social skills through interacting with their peers.

Please register using your child’s name. To register additional children, use the “add more people” button.
Caregivers attending the program with a child do not need to register.
